The Natural History Museum might not be on most people’s list of things to visit in Los Angeles. But it should be.
Brilliant displays of birds, animals, dinosaurs, fossils, insects and geology have the kids enthralled from the get go (that’s America speak). Three hours there wore me out but it deserves even more.
It was great to see kids and mums and dads (and even grandpas) calling out to each other to come and see whatever had caught their eye. Phone cameras were getting a huge workout as were the many interactive displays. There was one large video display of an albatross in flight. If you stood in front of it and flapped your arms then it would flap its wings. One wing down, one up, whatever you did the bird mimicked. Great fun.
