I spent my working life in advertising and marketing. These days, photography is my main pursuit. After retirement in 2003, I did a course in Web Design. It was full on and we touched most of the bases. Whilst I can now build a website, the process doesn’t interest me all that much. But that course did highlight to me that all websites rely on the quality of their content in order to succeed. The words and the graphics are key.
I have always been a handy writer. But graphics was an altogether different issue for me. I took up digital photography and found it far more intriguing than I could have imagined. The evolution of digital cameras and Photoshop have given all of us a limitless canvas for our creative selves. And that’s where I find myself today.
I’m a member of Northside Creative Photography, a camera club in Sydney. I’m also active with the Australian Photographic Society. Then there are dozens of email subscriptions and leading practitioners to follow. All those avenues give me lots of contact with other like minded photography enthusiasts.
And that has now led to this website. I need a place to showcase my work and my thoughts. Many of my contacts already have websites…and Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and so on. I have a lot of catching up to do.
